For plants and suppliers worldwide
Valeo plants in North America, North Africa, Eastern and Western Europe and Asia are now simplifying the process of delivering a new service or product to market due to the integration of Axway WebEDI with their suppliers. To date, 52 Valeo plants in 18 countries with more than 1,200 suppliers are integrated in the Axway WebEDI platform. More than 44,000 messages are exchanged every week, and the number continues to increase. Suppliers that do not have classic EDI can use Axway WebEDI to participate in globally standardized Valeo supply chain processes.
And cost savings for Valeo
Specifically, small suppliers or suppliers from countries without established EDI infrastructure can benefit from this Valeo offer. Ulrich Stollbert, head of the IS Group Competence Center WebEDI, coordinates global activities for the Valeo Group with his colleague, Thomas Gries. Regarding the acceptance of WebEDI within the Group, Stollbert said, “Axway’s WebEDI platform is now an essential component of the global Valeo SAP template, Comp@ss.”
“The comprehensive coverage of the supply chain offers us a high savings potential,” Stollbert added. “This applies even more so to incoming messages such as delivery notes including barcode labels and packaging. We have been able to significantly optimize our incoming goods process with the barcode labels. The quality of the data is excellent.”
The Information Systems (IS) division of Valeo Wiper Systems in Bietigheim-Bissingen has been using the central Axway WebEDI solution for its suppliers since 2002. Now it uses the latest Axway automotive WebEDI solution, based on the e-Forms 2 recommendation from Odette.
Valeo now utilizes WebEDI for these supply chain processes:
- Delivery instructions (DELFOR)
- Kanban (DELJIT)
- Delivery notes (DESADV)
- Invoices (INVOIC)
- Credit notes (SEBINV)
- Stock movements (INVRPT)
“The comprehensive coverage of the supply chain offers us a high savings potential. This applies even more so to incoming messages such as delivery notes including barcode labels and packaging. We have been able to significantly optimize our incoming goods process with the barcode labels. The quality of the data is excellent.”
Valeo’s WebEDI Platform Goes Global
A Japanese Valeo plant uses WebEDI for its pull-list (call-off) process, and an Inlogistics service provider also uses WebEDI In Shanghai, China. Valeo now uses Axway’s 24/7 hotline with extended standby service to serve its users in Asia. Additional plants and suppliers in the U.S., China and South America, plus eight plants in Brazil have been integrated into Axway’s WebEDI solution. WebEDI has been translated into Portuguese for this purpose and a special barcode label, “Valeo UC Compact,” has been designed for small packaging units.
Additional Benefits for Valeo
The addition of the payment notification process to the WebEDI solution is under discussion, as well as the introduction of Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI), so that Valeo can benefit from all WebEDI advantages.
The VALEO EDI / WebEDI portal provides users with application forms, training documents and a test user for the VALEO WebEDI platform.
