United States Air Force

As part of its public key infrastructure (PKI) initiative, the United States Department of Defense (DoD) has issued almost five million digital certificates to military personnel and civilian contractors. This digital certificate includes the user’s name, organization, and other identification information. The US Air Force relies on Axway Validation Authority to ensure the validity of digital certificates, as part of the DoD’s PKI to secure mission critical applications such as email, Web server access and system logins. Specifically, the Air Force uses Validation Authority to protect its infrastructure against revoked or expired digital certificates.
