State of California

California's economy is the eighth largest in the world – nearly $1.85 trillion in gross state product (GSP) in 2008 alone. California’s vast government body consists of hundreds of departments, agencies, boards, commissions, and programs, and within each there are tens of thousands of applications and databases in use. The state’s Office of Technology Services (OTech) needed to consolidate disparate and out-of-control file transfer infrastructures to a secure, centrally-managed solution, in order to reduce costs and solve a host of complex file transfer challenges. Using Axway MFT, OTech launched a managed file transfer shared service for consolidated, secure, automated file exchange for its agencies, their business partners and end users. Axway MFT has not only saved significant time and money for entities such as the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), it has also improved enterprise efficiency and accuracy, created visibility and scalability, and accelerated “Green IT” efforts to minimize paper-based processes, reduce transportation and energy costs, and more.
